Company Security Officer (STCW Reg. A/2.1.7)

Course Description:

This course is intended to meet the requirements set out in sections A/2.1.7 and AII of the ISPS Code and corresponding guidance in Part B of IMO Model Course 3.20.

Course is open to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Company Security Officer.
The course will cover security both onboard the ship and the interface between ship, operating company and port facility.

Prerequisite:

There are no specific prerequisites for this course, but those undergoing training should have sufficient knowledge and practical experience of merchant navy operations to enable them to achieve the objectives of the training and be able, if required to undertake the duties and responsibilities of a CSO and SSO on completion of the training.
However, the following are required from the trainees:
•Identification Card (ID) or Dischard Book or International Passport
•One (1) recent passport photograph

Duration:

The course duration is three (3) days

Certification:

After successful completion of the course and examination, trainee will receive a Company Security Officer (CSO) certificate issued under the Authority of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)
