Course Description:
This course is designed to equip trainees with operational skills, knowledge and attitudes of Rating forming part of a navigational watch in accordance with industry standards. The course aims to provide the trainees with introductory knowledge and understanding of basic theory and practical skills necessary for a Rating forming part of a navigational watch.
Prerequisite:
Candidate for this course must meet the following requirements;
1. Must have at least eighteen (18) months sea service on board vessel of least 750 kw / main propulsion machinery or more;
2. Must have passed the medical examination for eyesight and hearing as per Flag State Administration requirement;
3. Must be physically and mentally fit as per STCW '95;
4. Must have Basic Mandatory Certificate
5. Must have Medical Certificate,
6. Identification Card or Discharge Book,
7. One recent Passport photograph
Duration:
The course duration is one (1) week. (there will be refreshment breaks and 1hr lunch break each day)
Certification:
On successful completion of the course and examination, trainees will receive Rating forming part of a navigational watch Certificate of Attendance in readiness for the flag state's Certificate of Competency Exam.
