Course Description:
The course provides training for officers and ratings. It comprises a basic training program appropriate to their duties which includes oil and chemical tanker safety, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations. The course takes full account of section A-V/1-1 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended, including the Manila amendments 2010.
The Course is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 1.01
Prerequisite:
•There are no specific prerequisites for this course, however the following are required from the trainees;
• Able to read, write , and understand English.
•Identification Card (ID) or Dischard Book or International Passport
•One (1) recent passport photograph
Duration:
The course duration is Five (5) days
Certification:
After successful completion of the course and examination, trainees will receive a Basic Training for Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations certificate issued under the Authority of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)
