Course Description:
This interactive course comprised of 18 hours of classroom activity, usually over a 3 day period and is specifically designed to meet the training needs of those individuals in charge of implementing a Marine Facility Security Plan. This course has been developed to meet the requirements of the STCW section VI/5, requirements of the ISPS Code sections A/2.1.6, A/12.1 and A/12.2 and is based on the guidelines of IMO Model Course 3.21.
Prerequisite:
There are no specific prerequisites for this course, but those undergoing training should have sufficient knowledge and practical experience of Port operations to enable them to achieve the objectives of the training and be able, if required to undertake the duties and responsibilities of a PFSO on completion of the training.However, the following are required from the trainees:
•Identification Card (ID) or Dischard Book or International Passport
•One (1) recent passport photograph

Certification:
After successful completion of the course and examination, trainees will receive a Port Facility Security Officer certificate issued under the Authority of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)
